Forgotten Memories- Chapter 4

When I got out of the bathtub, I immediately went to sleep. The next morning I was awaken by Kaoko-san who was screaming at me. “Sakura-chan, you have a visitor. I can’t believe that you know a cute and ikemen guy. I wished that he was around my age..” I mumbled and pushed my head back into my pillow. “So early..?”

“Kaoko-san, get off me. I’ll be in the kitchen around 10 minutes.” I pushed her off and then she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.

I got up and got into my school uniform. I muttered. “My last week wearing this cute uniform…”

I walked out and started to head to the kitchen when I heard laughter. “Kaoko-chan, you are so funny. You could be a comedian.” I walked to see an unexpected person sitting in MY chair and eating MY breakfast. “Yo, Sakura-chan, I just wanted to make sure that you didn’t back down on our little bet.” It was Nino who was eating MY toast and finishing MY miso soup.

“Ninomiya….You little brat! How dare you eat MY breakfast! Anyways, how did you know I lived here.. Wait you followed me home! Darn, I kept my guard down.” I lowered my head and sighed. He giggled and said. “I can’t believe you live here with this beautiful lady. I should come over often.” Irritated and angry, I grabbed my school bag and shouted. “Itte kimasu!” I shut the door behind me and walked towards school.

I stomped to school where everyone was saying "good morning" to me. I ignored them and continued stomping my way to the school. “Sakura-chan! Sakura-chan!” A familiar voice shouted to me.

At the school gate, I was stopped by a person who tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to see a finger on my cheek. “I got you!” Nino smiled and I shrugged him off. “You’re so annoying. Let’s get this bet over and done with. I’m starting to get hives from your stinky bad cologne..” I muttered and waved my hand in front of my nose.

He whined and said. “It’s not that bad” He pulled his shirt closer to his nose and breathe in. “Eww, it does stink..” I smirked and then walked towards the shoe locker. I grabbed my big bag again and opened my locker. I saw many pink letters falling out. I smiled and then I picked them up and stuffed it in the bag.

I carried my big bag to my class and everyone started whispering. I smiled and shouted. “I’m not going to lose!” Nino came in with a delighted look on his face. I shouted to him. “After school, we’ll count the letters.” I glared at him and then he nodded to me with a happy smile.

During lunch-time, I opened my bag to remember that I had forgotten my money and the bento Kaoko-san was suppose to give me. I laid my head on my desk and rubbed my stomach with my hand. “Ah.. I’m so hungry. I should have brought money.” Then I felt someone’s hand poking my back and I turned around to see Nino holding a bento box that I had owned. “Sakura-chan, this is your bento box that Kaoko-san wanted to give to you but you left early without her finishing cooking it.”

I grabbed the bento from him and mumbled. “Arigato.” He smiled and walked back to his seat. I opened it to see the meatballs that Kaoko-san had just made. I dug in and I finished before the bell rang.

Math, English, Japanese, Science and many more. School was boring but it is for people who want to exceed in a job that they desire. My last period, Health class. We had to play basketball and I was constantly getting the ball from the opposite team. My teacher gave me a break and I sat against a wall. “Health class is so tiring.. I hope they don’t put me back on.” I sighed as I was wiping my sweat from my face.

Finally school was over and I had my bet with Nino. I walked in and grabbed the bag from this morning, filled with letters. I dumped the bag on my desk and my desk became buried in the big pile of letters.

Nino poured all letters that he had received and it covered his desk also. One by one, we both counted our letters. I read some and I smiled as I appreciated their confessions to me. 30 minutes later, we both finished counting our piles. We were both tied with 100 love letters. I looked over and stuck out my tongue. “We’re tied so that mean I don’t have to go out with you and you don’t have to praise me. It’s 50-50. Ja ne.” I stuffed the letters back in the bag. I grabbed the bag and was about to walk out when Nino shouted. “Matte. There is one more letter.” He placed his hands in his desk and pulled out another love letter.

I widened my eyes and slowly shook my head as I said. “You must be kidding me. That's not fair, it came out from your desk.” He grinned and said. “Our bet was about the most person who receives the most letters. It didn’t include where or when the letters came from.” He had got me. Now I have a date with Ninomiya Kazunari, the person I detest the most.
